Inspired by his experience teaching at St. Mary’s Cathedral School in O, Miami’s Sunroom, Dandelions is a meditation on influence and inspiration. A reflection on the reciprocity between student and teacher, and the art that blooms from it. Marnino’s poem was originally published in Who We Are Is Made, an audio-anthology of South Florida writers and their roots. The collection explores the legacies we carry—recipes, stories, memories—and the ways in which they shape the language we use to describe the world around us. Dandelions honors this intergenerational thread, exploring teaching as a space for shared growth.
